Katherine Hubbard: Bring your own lights
This event is now closed.
In this new body of work, photography, writing, and performance come together to place the mechanics and processes of analog photography in relation to new, possible narratives about cities, class, and image-making itself. One starting point is The Kitchen's building, both its original function as an ice storage facility in service to an ice plant next door and its current uses. Katherine Hubbard asks, "If narrative acknowledges that everything is scripted, then how do we begin to re-script? How is photography failing us in our efforts to do so and how is this failing a social issue having nothing to do with images of the world and having everything to do with how we see the world itself?"
