We've picked out our favorite NYC culture openings this weekend and in the week ahead to help you and your Culture Craver Kids plan your culture. We recommend a walk down Park Avenue Saturday in honor of SummerStreets and some new kid-friendly theater. What are YOU craving?
Craving summer games? The Children’s Museum of Manhattan has an exciting lineup from Friday through Sunday to get kids pumped for the Olympics. On Friday, kids five and younger can create their own Olympic Torches. Older kids can design their own medals with clay and paint. Saturday, there’s an Olympic Fitness class at 2 PM and on Sunday, kids aged 6 and up can learn about the Brazilian Martial Art of Capoeira.
Do you have a little stage star in the making? The New York International Fringe Festival, featuring almost 200 new shows from around the world, begins on Friday, Aug. 12. There's a whole lineup of FringeJR shows that are designed for kids, ages 5 to 12, including Amelia and her Paper Tigers, Fairy Tale Christmas: The Musical, Swashbuckling Sam and the Tale of Blackbeard’s Revenge, and Where the Mountain Meets the Moon. Get your tickets and try something new!
